Stand Out From Your Competition

The Internet is comprised of tons of content! It’s a ‘network of networks’ consisting of billions of information resources and serves people worldwide each day. Whether you’re looking for educational content, content to make you laugh or content to help you buy a new product or service, it can all be found on the Internet.

So how do you write meaningful content that stands out from the rest? Content Strategy (CS).

As previously discussed, CS is defined as the practice of planning for content creation and delivery, and it’s important to consider for all web projects.

When you have good CS, users are able to quickly find your (hopefully) meaningful and useful content online.

To be successful with your CS you need to consider a few things:

Audit – It’s important to analyze your site content. Complete a content audit and ask yourself; what content currently exists on my website? What content can be removed or improved?

Deliver – Write your content in a consistent manner. Plan for and focus your writing on your organizations goals and target audience.

Revise – Write, re-write, write, re-write and write some more!

Own – Remember to revise and update your content on a consistent basis. Assign someone within your organization to “own” the website content and monitor corporate branding guidelines.

With good CS your content is that much closer to standing out from your competitions.

What are some of your tricks when planning for and writing your web content?
