Investing Locally, Internationally to Be the Best
Today we were named by Washington-based B2B research and review firm Clutch as one of Canada's top web development agencies. The same organization had us rated as a contender for top web designers.
Those are designations that I'm incredibly proud of, because they come from not just a third-party evaluation of our work and our processes, but, in large part, from the satisfaction of our clients.
And it doesn't happen by accident.
I'm extremely proud of the team we've developed here at Digital Echidna. It wasn't all that long ago that we were the stereotypical tech firm -- working out of a basement. But today, we're a team of over 40 developers, designers, writers, project managers, and sales staff working out of one of London's oldest buildings in the heart of downtown London.
The recognition is great because it comes as a result of our holding fast to our core beliefs. We believe in:
The Drupal Content Management System
Over the years we have taken an active leadership role in the greater Drupal open-source community, sponsoring events around the world, attending camps and conventions in large groups, and supporting employees with time and resources to give back to the community.
Doing Good Work and Letting the Work Stand for Itself
We know the end result and the client's satisfaction matters most of all. We tend to be quiet about things, as we gain satisfaction from the success of the projects that we're involved with. This extends to our community involvement. We tend to prefer to work behind the scenes, using our skills, passion, and expertise to help the organizations we support. If they get all the attention and success, then we've done our job!
Investing in People
I may be biased, but I firmly believe we have the best and brightest here at Digital Echidna. I don't feel it's by accident. We have brought people aboard from all walks of life and backgrounds. And we prioritize fit and culture when we do so. We hold ourselves to high standards in performance, client interaction, and professionalism, and I believe it shows.
Investing in London
We've committed to London in many ways -- and it's not just for altruistic reasons. Our commitment to the downtown core and renovating the 1881-built Burridge Block may be more personal in nature, but I'm not going to deny the advantages of the amazing network that's been built up -- and continues to grow -- in London.
Many of our staff has come out of Western and Fanshawe. And we're committed to supporting the emerging and future generations of talent that both of these fine institutions are putting out. We believe in community -- supporting ventures like Hacker Studios, hosting LonDUG events, and exploring other ways to grow this amazing tech hub that we have here in the Forest City.
Like the other awards we've won in the past, I'm proud of this one because we didn't seek it out. We didn't 'win' it because of doing anything special or making a concerted effort. It comes to us as a natural part of who we are and what we do.
We feel we're on the right path. And awards like this, that come in large part from our clients' satisfaction, help us know we are on that right path.
