Digital Echidna Is One Of The Fastest-Growing Companies in Canada

Digital Echidna marque that displays word Awesome

Canadian Business and Maclean’s released its 2019 Growth 500 list today, and we’re proud to announce that Digital Echidna has made the list for the third, consecutive year.

Digital Echidna ranks as no. 368 with a five-year revenue growth of 183 per cent.

Ranking Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies by five-year revenue growth, the Growth 500 profiles the country’s most successful entrepreneurial businesses. Winners are profiled in a special Growth 500 print issue of Canadian Business (packaged with the October issue of Maclean’s magazine) and online at Growth500.ca and CanadianBusiness.com.

Our five-year growth between 2013 and 2018 was consistent and stable. By focusing on the latest technologies and digital trends, the talent of the people who work for us, and, most importantly, exceeding the needs and expectations of clients, we are charting a course to continued success.

I relate much of this company’s success to a strategic decision years ago to create digital solutions almost exclusively on the open-source Drupal content management system. A bit of the right place at the right time, discovering this technology. Digital Echidna grew as it was able to refine its product offering, invest heavily in accreditation and professional development amongst staff, and position itself through experience and output as one of Canada’s leading web development firms and most recognized expert in accessible web design.

Today, Echidna offers much more than Drupal-based web solutions, but still maintains a heavy presence in this open-source technology.

Though our clients are across North America, we are committed still to growing in London, just like the nine other amazing London companies that were named to the list this year, and others in years past.

Internally, our growth has been built upon a foundation of excellence that’s come about from alignment to our core values: humble confidence; dedication and reliability; being a team player; being engaged and passionate in our efforts; and always learning and improving.

Our tools, tactics, and processes may have changed, but one thing that hasn’t changed -- from the early days to where we’re now working on enterprise-level, multi-user, multidimensional projects -- is our commitment to the end-user. And that’s helped us get where we are.

I have said this before and I will say it again. There is an amazing community of supporters we’ve been lucky enough to work with -- and continue to work with -- in London itself. We’ve developed wonderful relationships with colleagues, mentors -- and even competitors. Our partnerships with institutions like Fanshawe College and Western University aren’t just about short-term needs, but rather are shared efforts to grow and improve our city as a destination for tech talent. Our CSR efforts focused on children, culture, and the environment are all designed with an eye towards making our community more livable and sustainable for generations to come. And, of course, our commitment to the downtown core is part of our efforts to help revitalize this incredible city -- a city that’s our home.
