Hockey Night with Echidna

Last Friday, the Echidna Team hosted a client appreciation night at the John Labatt Centre, dubbed  "Hockey Night with Echidna" - where we gathered 100 of our closest clients, friends and family at a London Knights Hockey Game - to thank them for their ongoing ant-eater (Echidna) support!

In sticking to the hockey theme, our entire team pulled out our “TEAM ECHIDNA” Hockey Jerseys!!!

As one of the newest team members here at Echidna, my anticipation was soaring and it really made me think about the importance of a unique team event like this.  So today, several days later, I’ve come up with a list of why events like this are important for us and for your organization:

  • It's important to thank clients, without them where would we be?
  • Celebrate the work your staff does - many times when we're busy with all the day to day stuff and doing what you can to find new business, you forget to recognize the staff that makes it happen.
  • Like any business event, it's an opportunity to get to know potential clients (we invite those too). Potential clients like to know that they will be working with "real" people; this is a time for your staff to show their personalities and win over that next client with their charm.
  • Give your clients the opportunity to introduce their business to others!  All (well most) business owners want to talk about their business and introduce it to new potential clients.
  • Hopefully your event provides a great experience for attendees! Something they will be talking about with everyone and the following year they will be asking you when the game is.
So, in the end -- It’s about the relationship! -- You need to continue to cultivate the relationship.   Make your previous/current customers feel just as special as when you first began working together.

What type of client appreciation events have you been to, what works or what doesn't - let us know your thoughts?
