Our Very Own Drupal North Star
Digital Echidna is proud to share that Pat Gilbert, our New Business Manager covering the east part of Canada, has been elected as President of the new governance board of Drupal North -- an organization designed to co-ordinate and organize the annual Drupal North Regional Summit.
"The new Board's mission is to create the organization's bylaws, incorporate a new non-profit organization, and assemble the organizing team and continue the planning of the 2017 event," Gilbert said. "There has already been a lot of great groundwork done for the 2017 event and I'm looking forward to helping make this year's Drupal North the most successful ever -- and continue the strong growth of Drupal in Canada."
The new Drupal North Board is led by Gilbert, who is based out of Ottawa, ON, and his counterparts Bill Wu (Vice-President) and Erin Marchak (Treasurer).
We're really excited to have one of our own on this board. This is reflective of our continued support of and dedication to the Drupal Content Management System. As I've said numerous times in the past, Drupal is all about community -- and its strength comes from the dedication and talents of the people who give of their time, skills, and resources to make it better each and every day.
Digital Echidna prides itself on the quality and experience of our staff. Globally, there are 117 Drupal Grand Masters. In Canada, there are 11 -- five of those Grand Masters work at Digital Echidna. Many of our staff have obtained Drupal certification and we're constantly committed to investing in the community, our growth, and improving Drupal. We sponsor and attend events, and work to provide training and mentoring opportunities within the Drupal community both at Echidna and through LonDUG.
Having someone like Pat on our staff is reflective of that investment and we know he's going to do an amazing job heading up Drupal North.
Of course, we encourage you to learn more about Drupal North -- and if you're interested in attending, there will be announcements coming soon about the 2017 event. We'll be sure to share that information and we look forward to seeing you there!
