Be Part of a Global Drupal Sprint in the Forest City

Interested in being part of the global Drupal community? Or are you already part of it and would like to contribute to its betterment? Then please join us -- and the worldwide Drupal community -- at this weekend's 2016 Global Sprint Weekend event in London, ON hosted by Digital Echidna and LonDUG.

We're going to be working on porting Menu position, but we'll also have some other tasks and topics available to you if you'd rather do something else. And if you have an idea of what you'd like to work on, please feel free to share that with us.

It's a great opportunity for people to learn:

  • about Drupal 8
  • updating D7 modules for Drupal 8
  • how Drupal is made
  • how you can contribute to the Drupal open-source community

And it's a great way to develop coding skills and experience the benefits of teamwork.

Oh, and did we mention free pizza?

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday and you can join us at 103 King St., London, ON (right across the road from Gate 1 of the Budweiser Gardens). And if you can only stay for a couple of hours, that's OK -- we fully expect people to come and go throughout the day.

If you've built a site in Drupal or have worked on Drupal sites in the past, you're welcome to join us and contribute. Unlike some LonDUG events, this isn't really targetted to those with little to no Drupal knowledge. You're still welcome to come, but we just want to ensure that everyone knows what to expect.

If you can bring a laptop, that'd be ideal. If you don't have one, you'll be paired with someone who does.

As you may know, Digital Echidna is a proud contributor to and supporter of the Drupal Content Management System. We're proud to host this event -- one of only three Drupal Global Sprints in Canada -- and look forward to having you join us for some (or all) of the event. Contact us by e-mail or call 519-858-9604. You can also register on the meetup page.

It may be a sprint, but don't worry about getting winded! And the finish line is a better Drupal product -- which makes winners of us all.
